Abby Schiller
BIO:
“From falling in love, to falling apart, you healed me then gave me new scars” – Abby Schiller

Raleigh native and Nashville-based singer, Abby Schiller, has a special connection with the past – from music to fashion to history. When Abby isn’t writing music, her favorite hobby is antiquing; she is always on the hunt for unique vintage finds. Abby owns over 200 vintage vinyl records and is constantly listening to old recordings of Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Carole King, Nina Simone, Dolly Parton, ABBA, Queen, and so many others. Abby draws inspiration from the songwriting expertise of all of these singer/songwriters. Her love of the past also influences her style of writing, as Abby merges timeless text and themes with new and fun twists.

Abby released her debut single, Narcissistic Tendencies, on May 12, 2023 and her second single, Out of My Head, on June 16, 2023. Abby's debut EP, I Love You Isn't Enough, released shortly thereafter on July 28, 2023! While Abby has been writing songs her whole life, over the past few years she has discovered both herself and her sound. Through tumultuous times, sad seasons and exciting experiences, Abby has captured the experience of thriving and crying your way through your 20’s and finding yourself. Since releasing her debut EP, Abby moved to Nashville, TN where she enjoys playing throughout the Nashville area and collaborating with other singer/songwriters in town. Abby has also been teaching music so she can not only bring music into people's lives with performance and writing but also through education.

In May 2023, Abby graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston with a degree in Professional Music, with concentrations in vocal performance, songwriting, and music business. Prior to college, Abby performed throughout North Carolina as a soloist and with bands at several venues, events and festivals featuring self-composed music, covers and arrangements. Abby is a featured soloist on a recording of lullabies, What A Busy Day, produced by Bunker Sound Productions. Abby participated in the prestigious Grammy Camp in Los Angeles, CA – selected as one of only eight vocalists nationwide to participate in this intensive collaboration hosted by the Recording Academy. She has received several accolades including the News and Observer’s Tar Heel of the Week and first place in the Contemporary Commercial Division for the NC Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing. In 2020, she composed and recorded an original song, Hero to Me, which was featured in a video tribute to first responders at UNC Health.

Abby always knew music was her future. She grew up in Raleigh, NC and started music lessons at the age of eight. As a curious kid, she studied many styles of music. She has a vast amount of experience with various genres including pop, R&B, Indie, country and classical. She sang with an international touring children’s choir starting at age 12. Abby also performed in a funk and R&B band in high school. She learned about many performance styles and the various directions one can take in the music industry. Her path was always clear, having her mind set on being a singer/songwriter. Abby was writing music since she learned how to write words, and has been singing since she learned how to talk. Music is not just her greatest love, it is woven into her identity. And now, Abby's goal is to create and perform music that resonates with people and communities and lets them know their feelings are valid and relatable.

Rosalie LYRICS:

Rosalie
I just wanna feel what it’s like to be
Rosalie
For a day
Queen of Tennessee
You got a hold on everyone’s
Memory
But no one knows me

You seem to have it all figured out
And I’m just another face in the crowd
Rosalie
Goes all in and lives your life free
Rosalie
I overthink everything
You fall asleep
With nothing left to dream
Cause you’re so easy to love
You got everything
You seem to have it all figured out
And I’m just another face in the crowd

And I am lovely in the light but I’m lost in the night
And I try to be polite then I never speak my mind
But I’m learning who I am
It takes time
And I hate I compare
To your life
Rosalie
When you look at yourself what do you see
Do you pick yourself apart
Just like me
Perfection ain’t easy
Can you give it all away and still be
happy

You seem to have it all figured out
And I’m just another face in the crowd
Rosalie
I just wanna feel what it’s like to be
Rosalie
For a day
